one of buddies stepdad is selling his 2006 F350. It's an awesome truck and have always admired it. Has 39K miles on it, been well maintained and never abused.

Has the 5.4/6spd combo. I've drove it a few times before he wanted to sell it and it has plenty of power. I'm just wondering about the long run though of this truck. Will it be a good truck for me or am I going to be driving an overworked 5.4 that'll give me problems down the road? Any advice I'd appreciate! I already know it's a gas pig! -Mike-

That depends, are you going to haul anything with it? The truck can a lot but the engine is a different story.

Just occasional junk to the landfill. Dead bushes, tree limbs etc...
Everything else in between. Nothing heavy like a load of stone or concrete etc...

Most of time it will be used as a daily driver. Being that the truck is 4x4, it will go off road but nothing extreme.

BTW, how's your truck doing with the Cummins? Need a new set of tires yet -Mike-

I think you would be fine then. I've heard those do fairly well on mpg.

My truck is now at a performance shop having my tranny rebuilt... This guy builds race trucks and has worked on my buddy's '97 12V auto tranny. I guess the discs in the forward clutch fused together and with a hair under 200K miles on it, really needed a rebuild (considering the fused plates). A stock rebuild would have allowed me 60 extra hp but I would have to take it easy on it which wouldn't happen hauling even one horse so I'm having it rebuilt to handle 500hp.

yea if it wasn't for the 6spd, I wouldn't even consider it. The truck is a reg cab long bed, green in color.

Good luck with your truck! -Mike-
