I've got a 2000 ford ranger extended cab 4x4, 4.0
v-6, 5-speed. 4-high works great, but 4-low doesnt work at all. I've replaced the GEM from behind the sterio, the 4x4 switch on the dash. Took the electric motor off of the transfercase, and locked it (transfercase)in 4-low mannualy, it worked fine, so does anybody have a idea to what i should try next? Thanks cm.

Make sure the contacts are clean on the transfer case motor.

I dont quite understand what you mean, the electric shift motor rotates from 2wd to 4-high but will not rotate to 4-low. I took it off and had my wife switch it into 4wd on the dashed, and I watched the acuauator spin on the elec shift motor, and like I said it rotates 1\2 way, but not all the way to 4-low.
