Holy crap batman, 140mpg!! Well the electric Escape gets 140mpg, I assume this Ranger would be similar.

Check out this Ranger EV conversion:

$39K for a Ranger is a little rich though

Let's not forget about the factory Ranger EV Ford built in 98 (was it 98... 99?). Too bad they gave up on a 140 mpg Ranger. Who would buy that anyway I think it was cheaper when Ford produced it too.

We have chosen the Ford Ranger for our service fleet truck. It combines durability with light weight, and functionality. This truck is designed for light commercial use in the service sector.

The standard battery core provides a range of up to 200 miles. At todays fuel prices that represents a savings of over $1,400 per year USD.
The medium range core allows for up to 200 miles with a full payload, or you can select the high energy core to provide the maximum range possible for your vehicle.

We are now accepting orders for June 2008 delivery. Go to the Ranger Order page to select your vehicle color and options.

A $1,000 deposit is required to hold your selected vehicle and color. This deposit is non-refundable should you change your mind. 50% of the total sales price is required once your vehicle arrives at our dealership. The balance is due when your vehicle arrives at its destination for conversion.
