The "How-To" on this website goes back to 1997 F150's for third brake wiring on a canopy. Anyone got a website or something with older truck wiring for adding this? Thanks

The simplest option is to directly splice into your left or right brake light. Pull the left light and you'll have a lt grn/org wire, the right has org/lt blu wire. The colored wires are your positive 12V for the stop light. The brown wires you will also see attached are for the parking lights. It's the same bulb, just two different filaments inside.

If you run the harness from your canopy brake light you should tie the 12V lead into the colored wire from the brake light and the other wire from the canopy lead will go to a good clean chassis ground.
