is there a separate pin switch for the interior lights and chimes or is it part of the door latch?

i think that on your truck it would be the pin switch so you would need to start with repairing or replacing the switch.

If it's like my '98, all it needs is a couple shots of WD-40 into the door latch, then close it a couple times. Similar thing happened to me earlier this year and no problems since.
