not sure if anyone else thinks this but IMO cobras and toyota tacomas/tundras probably have the best sounding exhaust to me. i know that not everyone that owns one of the two has the same setup but sounds like most do. it's like a mellow kind of hollow sounding exhaust. anyway, does anyone know what type of exhaust i could put on my 97 f150 4.6 to get that sound? i've heard the cobras sound that way bc of DOHC so if that's case i understand but i'm not sure about the tacomas/tundras.
thanks

I had a 99 cobra and this is the exhaust I had
- Mac longtube equal length headers
- Mac Offroad H Pipe
- 2 Chamber 40 series Flowmasters
- All out of 3 inch exhaust
You can get the same type of sound with just the flowmasters and the off road mid pipe, that is where a lot of the sound comes from on the ford

lol ok there we go that's better. everything sounds better than a ford truck, it's just something you have to come to accept. it's like the lack of raw hp ford engines always have. it's just how it is.

He can take offense if he wants but spyer982 is a complete and udder idiot. Ford does NOT have a lack of raw HP. I would be willing to put $$ on that statement. The thing is that Ford trucks need a true dual exhaust setup to sound like a mustang. I have a true dual exhaust setup on my truck including long tube headers and high flow cats. It sounds darn good. If emissions laws were less strict it could sound better by removing the cats. Please don't listen to morons like spyder982. After all here is his picture.

Apparently opinions are to be kept to yourself here or you are called out.

Spyder982 gave his opinion an I gave mine. I just used more adjectives. I say, have a spine and don't be scared to voice your opinion. The catch to it is that you have to be able to defend your opinion. Don't just come in and say a bunch of BS and not expect someone to say something.
