i notice that when i come to a complete stop for example at a drive thru. the a/c stops cooling. as soon as i step on the pedal the cool air comes flowing back again. any ideas?

There is some loss at idle versus normal running but your charge may be a bit low.

Do you hear your clutch turning on and off fast? Like with in 10 seconds? maybe low on Freon,
The other thing is how dirty is the condensor, if it got a lot of dirty then it hard to cool, it normal for it to warm up a little at low idle, I got a temperature gauge (one of those meat therometers stuck in the vent) Driving I get down to 48 and idle it comes up to 55.
Also, if it is hot out side use the Recir, the A/C can only do like a delta on the temperature going across the evaperator.

here's a test I learned in college. It'll tell you if you need to recharge the system.

With the engine warmed up and a watch handy, rev the engine to 2000RPM with the AC on. Count how many times the A/C compressor kicks on and off in a 60 second time frame. It shouldn't cycle no more than 2 times, 3 at the most. -Mike-
