I have a buddy that has a 94 Ranger. The problem he has is that the temperature gauge is not working. I was wondering if there is a sensor that went bad.

I had the same problem with my truck and I replaced the Thermostat on the top end of the radiator hose. The fist thing you will whant to do is run the truck for about ten mins then pop the hood and see if the top house on the radiator is cold. If it is then its the thermostat. On my truck it was right in the gooseneck that goes to the engine. Its only two bolts but it is a pain in the A$% to take them out. I would suggest getting a swivel socket to take them out. You have to buy a new gasket and some sealer when you replace it. Put sealer on both sides of the gasket and let it set for a couple hours. Hope that help have fun

This is semular to what it looks like

Thanks for the help I am going over tomorrow to check it out. I might try checking the thermostat first then I might check and see if the sensor might be dirty or if it has a loose wire
