| Not much for now. When its complete, it'll be stock except for an exhaust manifold, dual 4" Aero Exhaust 4040s, and an air intake. Stock power is like 175bhp so I'm guessing those mods will put me well above 200 since those mods do much more for a diesel than a gasser. However, in the near future is a new fuel plate and delivery valves which will put me at least at 300. After this summer (depending on how far back sending my horse back to the lower-48 sets me back) or after my next deployment, I'll be putting much bigger injectors, turbo, and eventually a new tranny.
I'd like to get at least 500 to the ground (those are pretty small numbers these days) but I'm guessing a new turbo and injectors will put me above that to the ground. |

| Oh boy, let's see... The Cummins is in the truck and back at my buddy's shop. He got the ATS exhaust manifold, turbo, and 4" Dodge HX35 downpipe in. Its a perfect fit. We're working out how to fit the intake system in. It would be best to keep the second battery on the passenger side where it is so that and the hinge for the hood is somewhat imposing. My buddy fit the 6.0L PSD intercooler in directly behind the grill and bumper. It hangs down 2-3 inches (but not below the crankcase) so I'm going to have a custom plate built to cover the bottom and front of the intercooler. There's no room for a radiator fan between the engine and radiator so I'm looking into two 12- or 15-inch e-fans, one positioned on the upper right near the intercooler outlet and the other in the lower left near the intercooler inlet, to go between the radiator and a/c condenser. I have a 200 AMP alternator on the way to fit in the stock position on the engine with only one-wire to hook up (PA Performance) so the standard Cummins drive belt can be used. That's about it for now - or least that I can think of. We just finished playing war games so I'm beat! |

| Thanks but I have 2.5 inches between the radiator and a/c condenser at the most to work with so I'm going with two Be Cool 75059 and a Dakota Digital dual fan controller PAC-2000. |

| Right on, im a getting to be a big fan of the B5.9 since getting my dodge but i would rather have the ford wrapped around it!
FYI, The p-pumped cummins is just wayyy to easy to get power out of. Grind your plate to a #100 style, slide it forward, loosen off the AFC spring and giver chit!
Stock 181 delivery valves have been proven usable to 800hp. In 99% of cases they are a waste of money, better off buying a set of injectors, then you will make some power!
But first things first, you should verify which exact engine you have. If its a 97/98 12v from a stick truck its going to have a 887 or 913 (215hp) pump, which is just slighly better of a pump to start off with due to some design changes over the earlier pumps.
Some good reading if you havent already found them on:

My buddy has two p-pumped trucks. He definitely knows his stuff when it comes to these motors. He's already got a plate cut for me and backed off the AFC but I wanted to hold off on the plate and other mods because I'd like to see what its like stock and then slowly mod it. Makes you appreciate it more imo.
The engine is from a stick '95 truck. I subscribe to TDR. I love that site!
I got my 200amp alternator in today. It fits like stock and only has one wire to hook up to the starter. Got the air intake kit fitted. We're hoping to fire her up in the next couple of days. |

| Well, the engine is in and running great. My buddy had at least one person a day stop by his shop because they heard of the project. This week, the truck is at a performance shop because the discs in the front clutch fused together due to overheating. It could have been built back to stock but then I'd only be able to add 60hp and I'd have to take it easy on it - that doesn't happen when you haul horses - so its being rebuilt to 500hp so that I won't have to have it rebuilt again or replaced completely when I upgrade the turbo and injectors. I can't wait to drive it!!! |

He will. I'm leaving the engine fairly stock for now. Maddog Madsen's F-350 would be another matter - he made 1,262hp on its last dyno! Maddog Performance sells 1,000hp engines for $25,000 - sure beats Ford Racing's $36,000 500hp GT 5.4L... |
