Can someone direct me to where I can find the power (HP and Torque) for the 5.4L and V10 engine used in the '08 F250? Trying to determine power at typical crusing speed (2000 RPM)

Thanks!

Howdy,

My 2008 F250 w/5.4 runs at about 65mph at 2000rpm. I found the specs online, buit didn't keep them. I think it was something like 300hp and 325lb torque??? I did buy a Predator Progammer (U7155) and am currently playing with the settings. It has made a big difference so far, but haven't driven it enough to tell the overall effects. It's now spunker and "feels" better. What suprised me was the factory computer was set for a gear ratio of 4.10, but mine has the 3.73 limited slip. It also has risen the MPG to 12mpg city instead of the 11.1 before. If you decide to get one download and install the new firmware (v8r5) before using. You will need the adapter kit for an extra $35.00 to hook to your computer.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info. I suspect the HP would might be lower but the torque might be correct. I think I calculated the RPM with the 4.10 should be about 2000 at 70. I would probably get the 4.10 because I'd use it to plow in the winter and do some towing as well. Just not sure if the 5.4 will have enough power.

Howdy,

Here is one of the sites were I checked before.

http://www.cars.com/go/crp/research.jsp?makeid=14&modelid=181&year=2008&section=summary

I changed the factory tires to TOYO LT265x70RX17 AT's, but mine runs at about 2300rpm at 70mph (city driving), but after flashing the computer the shift points are smoother and feel much more solid with less extreme down-shifting when passing (It would jump up to just shy of 4600rpm when pushed hard).

I won't be towing anything over a twin axle U-Haul so it's good for my needs, but if your plowing snow or pulling stuck cars the V10 is a better bet for the low end torque. I wanted the 5.4 for better milage. So far it's better than my old 2006 2500HD with 6.0L and 4.10 gears in that department.

I still haven't had the chance to go on a long-haul interstate drive, but after a few more miles and flatter ground the cruise rpms may go down.

With regular at $1.33/L and diesel at almost $1.40/L up here I'm wondering why I sold my F150 to my buddy and got a 7.3 .... the turbo sure does sound nice though. LOL
