So last night I was rolling down my window, and all of a sudden there was a loud grinding noise, and the window fell. Now it won't roll up. So it probably fell off of the tracks.
Has anyone else had this problem before?
I'm taking it to the dealership tomorrow and wondering how much it will cost me.
Just take the door panel off and put the window back on the track. It's pretty easy and it'll save you the $100-$200 the dealership will charge. You can usually look and see pretty easily why the window came off the track.
you should do it yourself i have had that problem if you wanna spend 150 order a window regulator and motor and do it yourself
take off the door pannel
then water sheild
weather stripping
unbolt and take out the window
then ulbolt and unplug the regulator
reverse
my driver side window wouldn't roll down and then fell into the door (2 weeks after my bumper to bumper ran out). Took it to the dealer and was told that the window motor burned out. Here we are 3 months later and the same has now happened to my passenger window! Anyone else have this problem? How long until my other two windows are out of commission, as well?
About 6 months ago and 300 miles after turned 36,000; I walked out to find my back window down.
Turns out it cost $400 to repair and supposedly glass was off track due to some "small part" that broke and had to be repaired.
This morning, I rolled down my front window and heard the same grinding as when I tried to roll up the other one.
Obviously, from my history and all the other postings on the internet on this problem; if you have a Ford 150 it's a matter of time till you have a window problem.
