| OK folks. As you can probably tell, I occasionally change the home page of the site. I tweak a thing or two every once in a while.
Yesterday I added back the "Random Photos" bit. Now I'm looking for your feedback. What, if anything, is missing from the home page? Be as specific as possible please. _________________ 2007 Ranger, Black 2001 SuperCrew, 98 SuperCab 4x4 |

Everything looks good to me
One thing that would be nice is if the board could shorten long URL's that people post to show a product or service.
When a really long URL winds up in a conversation it doesn't wrap and as a result, the whole message box runs way off the right side of the page. That leaves the reader having to scroll left and right to read the messages in the thread.
Here is an example of what I'm talking about:
http://www.fordf150.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=46202
I don't know what software you're using, but applications like vBulletin can automatically shorten long URLs so things don't scroll off the screen. They take out a lot of the URL text in the middle and replace the missing text with 3 dots. The URL will still work properly when you click on it. If there's a way to do it, it would be appreicated |

| jwt873, as it stands today the forum software can't do that. But there is a new version that's due to be released probably sometime in 2007 and that may have that functionality. It's like a whole new product, it's a major release. |

| Kelly, I never go to the home page anymore, but I find it a bit "busy" now that I looked again. I'm not sure what I would do to change it though? Is there any way to limit the size of pictures which are attached into a post? It is kind of like jwt873's point. Large pictures wrap off the screen. They are just minor complaints though. Love the site! |

| I think you do a great job. I really enjoy the site. I think the homepage should somehow highlight what most of us enjoy best about the site: the camaraderie among members as they join to help a fellow member sort out his/her truck issues. Maybe simply moving the "Free Membership!" category above the "Latest Forum Topics" category would be a start. Then, within the "Free Membership!" category, have a hook phrase in large red font something like "Need help with your truck?... You've come the the right place!" |

| Kelly I've said it more than once and I think it worth repeating "This is the best darn site for Ford Trucks ever".
Be away, being busy with work, more work and still more work, but do intend to stop by more often and liven up the place. And you good sir are doing a great job.
And yes I still have the 98 F150 with 5sp and the 4.2l only now it's got a little over 165,000 miles on it. Even Katrina couldn't kill it. |

| Hi, how about a random weather generator? Similar to the: "Where do you live map", only it would share current weather conditions, from various cities. If possible, a link to receive detailed weather info, for traveling members. Also, sharing important "Ford Historical info", ie: On this day in 19XX, Ford unveiled the, or...? Just a couple of thoughts, for that "added touch". Thanks, POWERUPP! |
