I can't seem to find a diagram of the window cable runs anywhere!!!!!!! Somehow my cable became undone and it would not run up so I opened it up and found the cable all jammed up.where can I find a website to show me the diagram and how to fix it.

You won't find a diagram. You have to replace the window regulator. It's the part that the motor attaches to. If the cables are jammed, the regulator is broke for sure.

Fordparts.com might have an exploded view of the how the window works. This website is like a parts manual for all fords. plus it gives you the oem part number and price. However, this website can be expensive. So I would shop around. But it is good if you want to a diagram.

had the same problem not too long ago with my 05. ended up taking it to the dealer and they replaced the cable assembly under warranty. might be worth calling the dealer if you're still under warranty

Iam still under warranty but,I believe I had just invalidated it when I opened up the door to raise the window for security reasons.

Do you mean you took the door panel off? Don't worry about it, if you told the dealer you took the door panel off so you could get the window up because of weather, security or whatever---it won't matter. It's still covered.

I hope you're right about the coverage still being good,I'll try and see them this coming week(Feb.5)I didn't have TOO much trouble putting the panel back on.I couldn't stand looking at all the exposed parts, besides I work at a prison and they inspect vehicles that appear suspiciously. One guy got fired because he had empty beer cans in his car.

This is what I had to do when my regulator motor gearing sheared off. Not even going to mention how crappy the Ford dealers are here in south Florida. Oops guess I did !

To change it just remove your door panel, then remove the inner vapor barrier making sure not to damage it. Get some duct tape out and have it ready. Once you have access to the inner workings of your door lower the window enough to gain access to the 2 bolts that hold it to the regulator. Once these are loose and free from the window slide the window up and use that duct tape to hold it in the up position. Now remove the 4 bolts holding the regulator to the door and the 1-2 bolts (I forgot how many) that hold the motor to the door. Now compress the whole assembly and pull it out of the large door opening.

Install it by reversing the procedure with one caveat. When bolting the regulator to the door do this loosely. Then instal your window to the regulator. Move the window fully up using the door switches THEN tighten door your 4 regulator bolts. If you have any other question feel free to e-mail me or post here.

I had bought my regulator in Miami and they sold me a rear door one which is not the same size. Instead of going back to that dealer ever again I took the good regulator apart and the bad one apart and took what I needed to make the front door window work again.

Remove the regulator as stated before there is no way you can do this in the door.

The regulator has two tracks that support the windows slides. Now on the tops and bottoms of these tracks are plastic tensioners. Unclip these tensioners top and bottom on both regulators. Then remove the retainers on the motor mount for both cables. Now the slides on your regulator tracks will just pop off. Just make sure to look at them closely because they only remove in one direction. Once you have them off you will see the cables end in these sliders.

Now that the cables are free from both sliders you will need to remove the motor from it's mount. Once you remove the motor the pulley will remain in it's cage.

This is where it gets tricky. You will need to rewind the cables on the pulley. Make sure you have some masking tape handy. Now both cables wrap onto the pulley but they come from different sides and wrap in opposite directions. The problem is as you wrap one wire it will unwrap the other wire. The best thing to do is wrap the wire nearest the motor on completely. Completely equals about halfway up the pulley. Then wrap the upper wire on halfway. This should put your window in the halfway open position. Once both wires are wrapped and tight TAPE IT! Do not get carried away with the tape however. Now install the pulley back into it's cage and re-attach the motor

Once the motor is mounted you want to attach the cable ends to the sliders and clip them back on to the tracks. Now you guide the cables up over the pulleys at the top and bootom of the tracks and re-attach the track tensioners. Once this is done you will attach the tensioners at the motor frame. These will be a very tough fit if everything is done correctly. Once they are snapped in place your regulator should be good to go just remember to remove the tape from your pulley.

man that is a lot to go through to change that thing out. i screwed around with the cables to see if something was loose or something, but it was obvious the cables were jammed and frayed so i just put it all back together and took it in.
