| Power on both is out, fuse is ok. Driver door locks ok. Pass side wont lock from rod on inside or from key on outside (door is stuck unlocked). Pulled the panel and all the linkage looks to be hooked up since I didn't see any dangling around. I didn't pull the door actuator (fuggin bottom corner of door as luck would have it) and just put the panel back on and decided to do a little surfing for known issues. When these things go out, is it possible that the pass side could have froze in the up position to keep the lock rod from moving down? I could care less about power locks, but I do need to get the lock to work with the key. Oh yeah, the oem actuator is rivited to the door by just one rivit . With an aftermarket actuator, can I assume it will have a bolt/nut type fastener? Finally, if I just pull the motor and let the rod hang down, do you think I'll be able to turn the key to lock it or is it possible there is a problem in the lock mech above? Thanks in advance!
Oh yeah, are there any better diagrams around for the door guts? My Chilton's tiny pic sucks. _________________ Other wheels:

well, the actuator not being connected (if I'm reading correctly - it's fallen off and is in the bottom of the door, right?) that rules one source out, next thing to do I'd suggest is to check the link the actuator connects to, may be damaged or have part of the actuator still attached and wedged somewhere, the alternative is to remove the catch mechanism and see if you can work the linkages on the bench, maybe one of the links is bent and is binding.

| Not it. The actuator (is that the real name? the power thingy with the piston that moves up and down) is in the original position. Its in the bracket at the bottom corner inside the door, straight down under the lock sitting an inch or two off the bottom. Its not loose so its gotta be in the right place. _________________ Other wheels:

| Best bet is it go in a try pulling and tweaking around with everything. See if you can get something to move. If you have a multimeter on hand you can test the actuator and motor to make sure there isnt an open anywhere and they infact are/arent locked.
My 90 passenger side actuator burnt out a while ago. Would get it replaced but the cheapest I can find is about $90. |

The lock motors commonly seize when they're not used. It's a design flaw that causes them to collect water inside the motor & rust up. Disconnect the motor's operating rod from the latch & see what happens. Check out these photos & diagrams. _________________
