NOT TO MANY [TO ME] DECADES AGO, PICKUP TRUCKS BELTED OUT 100 OR LESS HORSEPOWER.
THEN, FEW COMPLAINED THESE TRUCKS LOADED DID NOT ROMP DOWN A FREEWAY WITHOUT STRESS; ABLE TO GO BETWEEN POINTS A AND B SMOOTHLY.
TODAY, FORD SMART AND TOUGH 4 BANGERS [WITHOUT TURBLOW] DEVELOP FAR MORE THAN 100 HP.
THIS, COMBINED WITH A VARIABLE OR 6 SPEED TRANSMISSION, WILL GIVE GOOD GRUNT WHEN STARTING ALONG WITH RELAXED CRUSEING.
THE OWNER'S PAYOFF WILL BE; LESS FUEL BURNED DURING RED LIGHTS AND PART THROTTLE ROLLING [MOST OF THE TIME] OPERATION ~ A FORD JOB WELL DONE ~ MORE MONEY LEFT IN THE WALLET.
NO, THIS WOULD NOT BE A TRUCK FOR THE DRAGSTRIP, RATHER FOR GETTING JOBS DONE.
PLEASE RETAIL THIS BEFORE THOSE OVER THE PONDS DO.
REGARDS, CARL

I think its a great idea but manufacturing costs would bring the prices up. Also most turbo 4 cylinders require premium grade fuel which offsets the return of running a 4 cylinder. To those who say, go buy a nissan.....just wrong! Lets go buy Import vehicles rather than diversify our products. This is part of the reason our auto makers are not doing well, they are loosing the job market.

I'll take an inline 6 any day over a V6. Make mine a diesel, and give us a turbo-6 for the Super Duty.

I think it's a good idea. I think it's dumb with the 2009 F-150 only coming with V8's with todays gas prices we should come out with a v6. With a full sized F-150 with a 4 cylinder turbo. It's not going to have a ton of power but it's going to go. And it will have good gasmilage. But I think Ford might go out in 2010. Since the Rapter is coming in supercharged V8.

I also think Mustang should do this. Go with the power and gasmilage and in between. Have a 4 cylinder maybe with a turbo. V6, and a V8.
