One question that keeps coming up is what can I do to my truck that costs little or no money, to get a bit more power.
Well, there's an old adage that says there's no such thing as a free lunch. And that holds true with trucks, too. So, this article attempts to provide some ideas and links to things you can do on a budget to get a little more power. Very few mods are free ;-) -- if you want real power, you'll have to spend some money.
- Remove the slack from your throttle cable for a little better throttle response (up to '03 trucks)
- Remove the air intake silencer
- Clean your Mass Airflow Sensor for a better running engine
- Gotts Intake Modification
Now if you've done those things, you'll have to think about spending some money on the popular mods like cat-back exhaust, cold air intake kits, programmers/tuners, etc.
